'The Spirit of Christmas' was the name of Matt Stone and Trey Parker's 1995 short-film, which introduced 4 foul-mouthed boys and a town called 'South Park' to the world. It began when a FOX executive asked Matt and Trey to produce a Video Christmas Card for him to send to his colleagues. They were given $2000, and the entire film was produced in their basement, using paper cutouts and their video equipment. It was never shown on TV, but the 5 minute long short-film had been circulating around the internet, developing an underground following. In 1997, Comedy Central offered Matt and Trey the chance to produce a full-length TV series based on 'South Park', the town featured in the short film. Brief Synopsis
In the (ahem) true Spirit of Christmas, Jesus beams down to South Park and Demands a final battle with Santa Claus for the ownership of Christmas. After finding Santa Claus at the local mall, the fierce fight commences, and ends up killing a few people, including kenny. Brian Boitano visits South Park, and when the boys ask him whether they should help Santa or Jesus if a fight happened, and he told them that they shouldn't think of things that way, and that Christmas was a time to forget about the bad stuff. The Boys get their point through to santa and jesus, and they both make up and go off for orange smoothies!

Information Tidbits
-How Kenny Died: During the bigfight, Santa Claus throws an iceball projectile at Jesus, but instead of hitting Jesus, it hits Kenny and Decapitates him, sending his head flying midair into a town statue, knocking the statue over and killing 3 other kids.
-Cool Quote #1: Cartman: "God Dammit, you stepped on my foot, you pig-f*cker!" Stan: "Dude, don't say pig-f*cker in front of Jesus!"
-Cool Quote #2: Stan: "And y'know, I think i've learned something today. It doesn't matter if you're Christian, or Jewish, or Athiest or Hindu.. Christmas is still about one important thing." Cartman: "Yeah, ham."
-In the Fierce battle between Jesus & Santa Claus, the Music in the Background is taken From the hit video game, Mortal Kombat 3.
-The 'Visit Santa!' stand that santa is sitting on in the town can also be seen in #110: Mr Hankey The Christmas Poo.
-When Jesus visits The Mall, you may recognise the shops in the background that still exist in the show (eg. Sushi Bar, Tom's Rhinoplasty)
-The little girl sitting on Santa's lap looks uncannily similar to Stan's Girlfriend, Wendy Testaburger.
